Below are a few testimonials from Student Aid Fund recipients and/or parents.
Perhaps these are the most compelling reasons to give.

"Education is everything," was the Mantra that Allan and I have told the kids over and over again ever since they were in school. Higher education is so important and with the help of the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund, our children and many others from this area are able to continue their education beyond high school."
Sincerely and most appreciatively,
Barbara and Allan Walton, Parents

"Mark says that the scholarship assistance that Alyssa receives is as important to the family as it is to Alyssa. This is the second year of a Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund grant paid to Boston College for her, plus a State of Maine scholarship, and a scholarship from BC. She also has arranged for a loan from Boston College and expects to increase that loan each year of college. "We can do it," says Alyssa and her parents agree. "The scholarship assistance Alyssa receives," says Mark and Debbie, is as important to us as it is to her."
Mark and Debbie Mellor

"It is truly remarkable that a community of our size is able to raise so much for the education of its youth. Without your help, the burdens of financing secondary education would be even more exorbitant and your contribution makes college that much more of a possibility for me and all of the other recipients."
Ian McConnell, Student

"Even though Molly was a scholar athelete, swimming and running cross country, no atheletic funds were offered by her college. Therefore, she is extremely grateful for what the Student Aid Fund was able to underwrite, and so are her parents. Because college expenses are so high, Molly expects she will apply for help for her remaining years in college where, at the moment, she is studying a liberal arts course prior to having to declare a major."

"I had no idea I was eligible for a BRSAF until a friend told me to look into it. I just assumed it would only be for students just graduating from high school." Sandy goes on to say, "It is very difficult -- financially speaking -- to support myself and my children, and with the increasing cost of gas, it makes it even more difficult. Although I receive some grants and student loans, it is the support I receive from the Student Aid Fund which helps take some of the burden off my student loans."
Sandy Timberlake, Student
